I have lived in DeKalb County since I was four years old. I'm an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, a diehard Cubs fan, and a proud uncle.
I'm running because I want to offer a better option to the people of District 52, one which means more freedom to live your lives as you see fit.
Simply put, we have too many laws in Indiana. Some of them, such as the “blue laws”, are totally unnecessary, and others, such as “red flag laws” & occupational licensing, do nothing but hurt individual Hoosiers and Hoosier businesses.
Unfortunately, neither Republicans nor Democrats offer much beyond lip service. If elected State Representative, I will work to remove as many of these unneeded regulations as possible.
Whether it has to do with alcohol or firearms, cannabis or sex work, tobacco or vaping, the results of prohibition have been billions of dollars wasted and countless lives destroyed.
If elected State Representative, I will work to help push through the decriminalization and legalization of victimless crimes in Indiana.
The problems facing Indiana's schools are anything but simplistic, yet simplistic, “one size fits all” solutions are advocated, even when they fail to produce the desired results.
As your State Representative, my focus will be on ensuring greater freedom for all, greater freedom for school boards to manage their districts and schools to manage themselves, greater freedom for teachers to better educate their students, and greater freedom for families to decide what is best for their children.
Historically, Republicans were the party of tax cuts and less spending. Sadly, in Indiana, with super majorities in both houses of the General Assembly, we have seen them govern like Democrats, raising taxes and coming up with new reasons to keep spending.
As your State Representative, I will work to help cut and abolish taxes, and pursue cuts in government spending wherever possible. It is your money, and it is essential that our state legislators be fiscally responsible.
With growing cases of police brutality, an increased awareness of injustice, especially racial injustice, and the continued infringement of our civil liberties, the need for reform in the criminal justice system has never been more apparent.
If elected as your State Representative, I will work to help put an end to qualified immunity, warrantless searches, no-knock raids, civil asset forfeiture, mandatory minumums, the death penalty, and the militarization of law enforcement.
